Theory or Intuition in Digital Marketing

Theory or Intuition in Digital Marketing

November 17th, 2014 @

Intuition is a hard thing to explain, it means different things to different people. It is usually a hunch, or gut feeling, compelling you to do, or say something. Intuition is quite literally defined as “knowledge from within”.

Steve Jobs said about intuition: ”Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect, in my opinion. That’s had a big impact on my work. Western rational thought is not an innate human characteristic; it is learned and it is a great achievement of Western civilization. In the villages of India, they never learned it. They learned something else which is in some ways just as valuable, but in other ways is not. That’s the power of intuition and experiential wisdom. Coming back after seven months in Indian villages, I saw the craziness of the western world and its capacity for rational thought. If you just sit and observe, you will see how restless your mind is. If you try to calm it, it only makes it worse, but over time it does calm, and when it does, there’s room to hear more subtle things – that’s when your intuition starts to blossom and you start to see things more clearly and be in the present more. Your mind just slows down, and you see a tremendous expanse in the moment. You see so much more than you could see before. It’s a discipline; you have to practice it”.

Many entrepreneurs admit to relying on ‘gut instinct’ to make key business decisions. Gut instinct, combined with practical common sense and a willingness to use all available resources, plays an important role in the decision making process of many successful entrepreneurs.

It takes thousands of hours of practice to achieve greatness, which is same whether you are Microsoft founder Bill Gates or music composer Mozart and it’s same for digital marketers to achieve digital marketing excellence.

Most digital marketing specialists have spent hours formulating various digital marketing campaigns, during which they have honed their skills, and polished their instinct, to the high level it is today.

As you prepare search marketing campaigns spend some creative time imagining the motivations, and fears of your ideal prospects and accordingly build your ads and landing pages. It also will inform about the spirit and direction of your marketing and create in your prospects a feeling of being understood and appreciated for their struggles and desires.

Everything starts with a plan and structured strategy for the business, clarifying objectives and budgets for the activities. Digital Marketing is basically promotion of brands using all forms of digital advertising mediums to reach the target segment. This includes Radio, mobile, Internet, Television, social media marketing and other forms of digital media.

I love marketing, to feel the market and the business in it. Marketing should be ethical and professional no matter the kind of product being sold and where it is being sold. Satisfied customers will market your products at no fee. The ultimate objective of marketing is to know your market, to adapt yourself and to interact with it more efficiently.

If your marketing or your brand lacks passion, you will never break through the noise online. Passion is the largest driver motivating people to produce, share and remix content online.

The businesses that share honest passion with the world while forging deep, personal connections will be the long term winners, not the ones who treat the web like an impersonal mass-market.
